Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

From November through March, the lower Rio Grande Valley coast is usually mild, with comfortable afternoons, humid air and plenty of sun between fronts. Every week or so a cold front can blow through with strong north wind, clouds, drizzle and a sudden chill, and wind matters both on the lighthouse gallery and on the causeway. Warm, still spells bring out mosquitoes, especially near refuge water. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS Brownsville forecast the evening before and the morning of your trip.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
