Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

In March–May and October–November, Dallas afternoons are usually mild to warm, with cool mornings, but cold fronts can bring a windy, chilly day. Spring, especially April and May, is the peak season for strong thunderstorms with lightning, hail and heavy rain, and fall storms are possible too. June through September is usually hot, with afternoon highs in the 90s, so do the lake walk early or keep it short; winter brings cool days and occasional freezes. The lakeshore is open to sun and wind, and storms make it a poor place to be. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast and do the most walking in the morning.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
