Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

In May and from late September through October, Galveston is usually warm to hot and humid, with a sea breeze, strong sun and Gulf water warm enough to swim. Summer is hotter and more crowded. Fast-moving thunderstorms can bring lightning and heavy rain, and onshore winds can raise rough surf and rip currents even on sunny days. Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30; if a tropical storm or hurricane is forecast for the Gulf, postpone the trip and follow local officials. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast the evening before and the morning of your trip.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
