From October to May, South Padre usually has warm to mild days and strong sun, even when the air feels cool. It is often windy, and a winter cold front can bring a sudden shift to strong north winds, cooler air and a rough bay, which can cancel boat trips. Fall can still be warm and humid, and hurricane season runs into November. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS Brownsville forecast and surf zone forecast the evening before and the morning of your trip.
