Terms of service.
Last updated October 13, 2026
Greg’s Guides is run by Tecnicl LLC (“we” or “us”). These terms cover the website at www.gregsguides.com and the Greg’s Guides app for iPhone and iPad. By using either one, or buying a guide, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
The short version
- Guides are plans, not guarantees. Roads, trails, tides, hours and rules change. Check official sources before you go, and you’re responsible for your own safety.
- Buy once, keep it. A guide you buy is yours to read for your own trips, including updates. Please don’t share, post or resell it.
- Sales are final, except as described in our refund policy.
- Play fair. Don’t misuse the site, its promotions or other people’s accounts.
Your account
- You can browse and buy without an account. An account keeps your guides together and lets you use them in the app.
- Give us accurate details, keep your password and passkeys to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You’re responsible for what happens in your account.
- You must be at least 13 to create an account. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian’s permission to buy guides.
- You can delete your account at any time. Our privacy policy explains what’s removed.
Buying guides
- Prices are in US dollars and shown before you pay. We can change prices at any time, but never for a purchase you’ve already made.
- Payment. Website purchases are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card details. App purchases are processed by Apple under Apple’s terms.
- Mistakes. If a guide is listed at an obviously wrong price, we may cancel the order and refund you in full.
- Promotions and codes follow the terms shown with them, such as dates, limits and which guides they cover. They have no cash value, can’t be sold or transferred, and can end or be withdrawn. We may cancel orders that misuse them.
- Refunds follow our refund policy. Apple handles refunds for purchases made in the app.
What you can do with a guide
When you buy a guide, or get one free, we give you a personal, non-transferable right to read it and use it to plan and take your own trips, with the people you travel with. That includes every update we make to it.
Please don’t:
- Share, post, sell, rent or give away a guide, its files or its private links.
- Copy guides in bulk, or use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to collect them.
- Use guides for commercial purposes, such as running paid tours or building a competing product, without our written permission.
Guide links are private. They expire and only work in the browser they were made for, which helps keep your purchase yours.
You keep access to guides you’ve bought for as long as we run Greg’s Guides. If we ever stop, we’ll email owners first with reasonable notice.
Guide updates
We update guides as places change. An update can add, change or remove stops, routes, times or advice, and you always get the latest version. Each guide shows when it was last updated and when the trip is best taken.
Your safety and the accuracy of guides
We research every guide carefully and write it in good faith, but a guide is general planning information, not a promise about conditions on the day you go.
- Things change. Roads, trails, tides, weather, opening hours, fees, permits, parking and closures change, sometimes without notice. Each guide links to official sources. Check them before you leave, and obey posted signs, closures and instructions from officials.
- Times are estimates. Driving and activity times are approximate. Traffic, weather and your own pace will vary.
- Outdoor activities carry risk. Beaches, cliffs, rivers, mountain roads, trails and changing weather can be dangerous. Decide for yourself whether a trip suits your experience, health, vehicle and gear. You take part at your own risk.
- Not professional advice. Guides aren’t legal, medical, safety or navigation advice. Use a dedicated navigation app for directions, and follow it only where it’s safe and legal to do so.
Other services and links
Guides link to other services, such as Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze, park and road agencies, and the places you’ll visit. We don’t run them and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy or availability. Your use of them is covered by their own terms.
Proposing a route
When you propose a route, you let us use your idea, and anything you send with it, freely and without payment beyond the reward described on that page. We don’t have to publish it, we write the guide ourselves, and we can credit you the way you ask. If two people suggest the same route, the first to submit gets the credit and the reward. Please only send ideas and material that are yours to share.
Using the site fairly
Don’t use Greg’s Guides to break the law, harm anyone, or get around how it works. That includes trying to access other people’s accounts or guides, probing or overloading our systems, creating accounts in bulk, or abusing promotions, forms or invitations.
Our content
The guides, text, maps, design, the Greg’s Guides name and the “g.” logo belong to Tecnicl LLC. Some photos are used under their own licenses, and each one is credited to its owner. Nothing in these terms gives you ownership of any of it.
Ending your use
You can stop using Greg’s Guides and delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used for fraud, or puts other people or our systems at risk. If we close your account without a reason like that, we’ll refund what you paid for the guides you lose.
Disclaimers
Except as these terms say, Greg’s Guides and its guides are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t make any other promises, including that guides are complete or error-free, or that the site and app will always be available.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Tecnicl LLC isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for injury, damage or loss that comes from conditions on a trip, from other services, or from relying on a guide instead of current official information. Our total liability for any claim about Greg’s Guides is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.
Some places don’t allow these limits. Where that’s the case, they apply only as far as the law permits, and nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t legally be limited.
Disputes
If something goes wrong, email us first and we’ll try to sort it out together. If we can’t, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Washington, except that either of us may use a small claims court where it applies. If you’re a consumer, you keep any protections the law where you live gives you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Greg’s Guides changes. We’ll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll say so on the site. Changes apply from then on, never to purchases you’ve already made. If you keep using Greg’s Guides after a change, the new terms apply.
Everything else
If part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. These terms, our privacy policy and our refund policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Greg’s Guides.
