Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

From November to March the low desert along the Rio Grande is usually dry and sunny. NPS averages for Rio Grande Village, a similar riverside elevation, run from highs near 70°F in January to the mid-80s°F in March, with lows from below freezing in December and January to the mid-40s°F in March. Mornings can be truly cold and afternoons hot in direct sun, with little shade at any stop. Rain is uncommon in these months, but any storm can flood Terlingua Creek and dirt roads quickly. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
