Marfa sits high on a desert plateau, so the sun is strong even when the air feels mild. Spring and fall usually bring warm, dry afternoons and cool to chilly evenings, with a big drop in temperature after sunset. Spring is often windy and dusty. Summer afternoons are hot and bring thunderstorms with lightning, while winter days can be pleasant but nights often fall below freezing. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast the evening before and the morning of your trip.
