Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

In spring and fall, Glen Rose is usually warm by afternoon with cool mornings; spring brings the most thunderstorms, and fall cold fronts can bring a breezy, much cooler day. Rain upstream can raise the Paluxy quickly, covering tracks and making crossings dangerous. There is little shade on the riverbed rock, which gets very hot in summer, while winter days are cool and shorter. These are typical conditions, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast before you leave.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
