Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

From October through April, San Antonio days are usually mild to warm, which suits a day of short outdoor walks. October and April can still turn hot by afternoon, and cold fronts in December–February can bring a raw, windy day near freezing, so bring a layer. Thunderstorms are most likely in spring and fall and can quickly flood low crossings and close the river trail. Winter days are short: sunset comes around 5:35–5:45 pm from mid-November into early January, and the grounds close at sunset. Shade is scarce at the missions and along the Mission Reach in any season. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
