Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

Late March to early May on the upper Texas coast usually brings warm, humid days, steady breezes off the Gulf and strong sun, with heat building toward May. Sea fog can sit over the bay and peninsula on some mornings. Cold fronts bring lines of thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rain, then a cooler, clearer day behind them. There is no shade at Bolivar Flats, and mosquitoes are heavy in the woods and marshes after rain. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast the evening before and the morning of your trip.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
