Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

From June to early October the southern Maine coast is usually milder than inland: mornings can be cool or foggy, and afternoons warm but tempered by an onshore breeze. July and August bring the warmest days and occasional afternoon thunderstorms; the ocean stays cold. September and early October are often clear and crisp, with cooler evenings. Offshore storms can send high surf onto the rocks at Sohier Park and along the Marginal Way even on a sunny day. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast the evening before and the morning of your trip.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
