Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

October in the Litchfield Hills usually brings cool to cold mornings, sometimes with frost or valley fog that burns off by mid-morning, and mild, often sunny afternoons. Rain arrives with passing fronts every few days, and a windy storm can strip the leaves quickly. The hills run several degrees cooler than Hartford. Days are short, with sunset a little after 6 pm in mid-October and earlier as the month goes on. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast the evening before and the morning of your trip.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
