Be honest with yourself: it starts before 7 am and ends after 9 pm.

Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

From June to September the island is usually mild, with sea breezes keeping it cooler than Boston on hot days. Morning fog is common in early summer. Afternoon sea breezes make the ferry decks and the Aquinnah cliffs feel cool and windy, and the sun is strong on exposed headlands. Summer thunderstorms are usually brief. In late September and early October, days are crisp and clear but shorter, and coastal storms can bring wind that delays or cancels sailings. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast and the ferry status the evening before and the morning of your trip.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
