Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

From May to October Newport is usually milder than inland Massachusetts: comfortable summer days with a sea breeze, morning fog at times, and crisp, clear fall days that cool quickly toward evening. The shore is often windy, so it feels cooler on the Cliff Walk and at Brenton Point than in town. Coastal storms and the remnants of tropical systems can bring heavy rain, high surf and wind, mainly late summer and fall. In the holiday season expect cold, raw wind and early darkness. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast the evening before and the morning of your trip.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
