Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

Late October and November are often among the sunniest weeks on the Santa Cruz coast, with less summer fog and mild afternoons, though morning low clouds still drift in. Mornings in the redwood canyon at Felton are noticeably colder and damper than the beach. The first winter storms can arrive in November, bringing rain, wind and big surf, and on wet days Highway 17 becomes slow and slick. Monarchs fly on warm, sunny afternoons and stay clustered on cool, grey days. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast the evening before and the morning of your trip.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
