La Jolla and Torrey Pines

Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

Coastal La Jolla is mild all year. September to November usually brings the warmest ocean, clearer skies and warm afternoons, with an occasional hot, dry Santa Ana day. In winter, days are cooler and shorter, with occasional rain and large swells that can wash over seawalls. In late spring and early summer a marine layer often keeps mornings gray and cool, burning off by early afternoon, or not at all on some days. Sun on the bluffs is strong even when the air is cool, and it gets chilly quickly by the water after sunset. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast and surf conditions.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
