Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

In April and May and from October to mid-November, Atlanta usually has mild to warm afternoons and cool mornings, comfortable for a long day on foot. Spring brings rain and thunderstorms every few days, and pollen is heavy in early spring. Summer is hot and humid, with afternoon thunderstorms that can bring lightning and sudden downpours; the open trail and paved plazas get hot. Winter days are cool to chilly, with an occasional freeze or rare ice. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
