Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

From late September through mid-October, days in the canyon country are usually mild to cool and nights are cold, sometimes frosty, especially on the Cherry Springs mountaintop. Morning fog often fills the gorge and burns off by mid-morning. Rain and wind can bring the leaves down early, and the trails get slick when wet. Clear nights are the coldest. In summer, expect warm, humid days, afternoon thunderstorms and cool nights. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel dates. Check the NWS State College forecast before you go and each morning.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
