From June to September Seattle is usually at its driest and mildest (July and August most reliably), with long evenings; bright afternoons can feel warm on the uphill legs, so carry water. From October to April expect cool, often gray days, frequent showers and short daylight, with sunset around 4:20 pm in December. Waterfront wind can make any season feel colder, and wet leaves, steps and paving can be slippery. Bring a rain shell, warm layer and shoes with grip, and plan an indoor break. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast and warnings before leaving.
