Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

In spring and fall the Gorge is usually cool and changeable, with showers, fog and sun breaks; the falls run strongest after the wet months, from late winter into spring. Conditions at the falls often feel colder and windier than Portland, and exposed viewpoints can be very gusty. Waterfall spray keeps paths slippery even on dry days. Heavy rain can bring rockfall, debris and closures; winter can bring ice and snow that close roads. Summer is usually drier and warmer, but busier. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast, warnings and road conditions before leaving.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
