From late fall through spring, Tampa Bay is in its drier season: days are usually warm and sunny with lower humidity, and occasional cold fronts bring cooler, breezier days, so a light layer helps on winter evenings by the water. The NWS puts the Tampa Bay area's rainy season at roughly May 25 to October 10, with highs in the upper 80s to mid 90s°F, dew points around 70°F or higher and frequent afternoon thunderstorms; Atlantic hurricane season runs June through November. Even in cooler months, exposed pavement and waterfront walks feel hot in midday sun. For swimming, check posted beach advice and current beach conditions; a clear sky does not mean safe water. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast before you go.
