From late fall through spring, St. Petersburg is in its drier season: days are usually warm and sunny with lower humidity, and occasional cold fronts bring cooler, breezier days, so a light layer helps on winter evenings out on the Pier. The NWS puts West Central Florida's rainy season at roughly late May to mid-October, with daily highs in the upper 80s to mid 90s°F, dew points above 70°F and almost daily showers and thunderstorms, with frequent lightning at the July–early September peak; Atlantic hurricane season runs June through November. Exposed pavement on the bayfront and the Pier feels hot in midday sun in any month. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast and, for swimming, the posted beach flags.
