Tampa Bay beach weather changes through the year. Spring (March–May) is usually warm, sunny and fairly dry. From late May to about mid-October, the NWS rainy season brings heat, humidity and frequent thunderstorms, often in the afternoon, with lightning over open beaches, and hurricane season runs June through November. October and November are usually warm and drier. Winter brings mild days with occasional cool, windy fronts, and the Gulf can feel cold for swimming. Sun on the sand is strong in every season. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast and posted beach conditions before you go.
