Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

Lake Louise sits at about 1,750 m (5,700 ft), so it is much cooler than Calgary. In July and August afternoons usually reach about 20–22 °C (68–72 °F), but mornings start near 3–5 °C (37–41 °F), and Lake Agnes, a few hundred metres higher, is cooler still. Afternoon thunderstorms are common in summer, and snow can fall at the lakes in any month; by late September there is often ice on the higher trails. In late summer, wildfire smoke can haze the views. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the Environment and Climate Change Canada forecast the evening before and the morning of your trip.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
