Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

In July and August Banff usually sees highs around 22 °C (72 °F) and lows near 7 °C (45 °F), so mornings at the lake are chilly. June and September are cooler, and June is the wettest month, with afternoon showers and thunderstorms common all summer. The summit of Sulphur Mountain, at 2,281 m (7,486 ft), is usually several degrees colder and windier than town, and conditions there can change quickly, even in summer. Wildfire smoke can haze the views in late summer. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the Environment and Climate Change Canada forecast the evening before and the morning of your trip.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
