Plan for the conditions

Expected seasonal weather

Early October is usually dry and sunny in Albuquerque, with very cold starts and mild afternoons. The Fiesta's own guidance is mornings anywhere from about 20 to 40°F, warming to 50–70°F by noon, so dress in layers you can peel off as the sun climbs. Calm, clear mornings are what balloons need; wind, rain or low cloud can delay or cancel a launch or glow, and the decision is made on the day. At 5,000 feet the sun is strong once it's up. At the top of the Sandia Peak Tramway, above 10,000 feet, it is 15–30 degrees colder than in the city. These are seasonal expectations, not a forecast for your travel date; check the NWS forecast.

Admission and parking are separate. Check current conditions before departure.

A good day, in the bag.
